As a student at Exeter College, William Morris was exposed to the poetry, art and architecture that came to have a huge influence on his future work. This special tour explores the life and work of William Morris in Oxford, with his links to the Pre-Raphaelites and his legacy in the form of the Arts & Crafts movement with Dr Anne Anderson & Dr Scott Anderson or Alastair Lack.
You will see 19th century work by the brothers-in-art and Morris' company with accompanied visits to the Ashmolean Museum to see the Combe Collection and Christ Church with stained glass windows by the Morris Firm. Also included are visits to Exeter Collage to view the Morris Room, Keble College to see Holman Hunt's masterpiece, "The Light of the World", the Oxford Museum, and the pretty churches of Middleton Cheney and Bloxham.
Please note: This tour involves a considerable amount of walking and is therefore not suitable for people with walking difficulties.
