Market Town to Iron Town

The Birth of Industrial Britain - visit the fascinating Ironbridge Gorge Museum and the delightful historic town of Ludlow.

Enjoy this fascinating weekend where the main highlight of the tour is a visit to Ironbridge to view the world's first cast iron bridge, built in 1779 by Abraham Darby III. Other visits include the historic market town of Ludlow, Blists Hill where you will view the £12 million reconstructed village and a visit to an 18th century working mill in Eardington where you will get to enjoy a homemade cream tea with scones made from the mill's own flour. 

This memorable weekend is hosted by Mike Stone, industrial archaeologist and chair of the Wiltshire Industrial Archaeology committee and Dr Barrie Trinder, an acknowledged authority on Iron Bridge and the industrial revolution, he edited the first encylopedia of industrial archaeology and for 15 years was a senior research fellow at the Ironbridge Institute.
