Discovering Charles Rennie Mackintosh

Experts take you to see Glasgow's best kept Mackintosh secrets

Special Event highlights:

  • House for an Art Lover
  • The Mackintosh Gallery and works by the Glasgow Boys at the Kelvingrove
  • Private visit to Hill House in Helensburgh
  • Mackintosh experts Dai and Jenny Vaughan
  • The reconstructed interiors of a Mackintosh house and the Whistler Collection at the Hunterian Art Gallery

Learn about the creative genius of Charles Rennie Mackintosh with two leading exponents of Mackintosh's life and work - Dai and Jenny Vaughan who have led tours for the Charles Rennie Mackintosh Society, worked on the House for an Art Lover and completed a large number of commissions from designs of both Mackintosh and Margaret Macdonald.

Highlights include the House for an Art Lover, Glasgow School of Art, Kelvingrove Museum, Scotland Street School and Hill House, built for publisher Walter Blackie in 1902.

Please note, due to refurbishments at the Hunterian Gallery, we will be unable to visit the reconstructed Mackintosh House on the 20 July tour. As an alternative we have confirmed a visit to the Burrell Collection in the heart of the Pollok Country Park.
